“Roaming around and looking down at all I see. Painted faces fill the spaces I can’t reach. You know that I could use somebody”

little girl

Can you hear it?

The little voice inside your head.

The pep talks. The tough decisions. The motivation. The hope.

It’s there through them all. There’s no doubt about it.

It is just one of those things that you take for granted.

Never to think that you would ever lose that voice.

Gosh! What would happen if you did?

No pep talks. No motivations. No hopes.

Just blank space giving birth to apatheism.

When the flowers begin to bloom.

When the green world around you dances under the pale blue sky.

When the sun takes over the days again, leaving long lasting energy.

When the rain comes down at nights to have whispers with the sweet wet grass.

That little voice decides to slowly disappear.

Like a little girl sneaking out of her mother’s sight on a crowded street.

An early vacation is it?

To enjoy the four months of summer before the cold nights take over the days again.

To catch up with the cool breeze and the waving waters.

Leaving you behind, when it is all that you need.

Can you still hear it?

Yours Truly

“Open wide and say ‘Aaaaaaaaaa’”

The big ONE EIGHT happened on Thursday. No biggy.

Let me give you some deets on how birthdays are celebrated at True’s house:

They’re not.

Once in every two or three years if we get together with the relatives or friends on one of our birthdays we may choose to cut some candles and blow some cake ;] but apart from that, it is quite rare to celebrate each family members’ birthdays each year. Personally, I am alright with that. When it comes to my birthday I would rather not have a big celebration or a huge cake, and most importantly, surprises. I dislike those. But when it’s someone else’s birthday, I am willing to do all those things, plus ten =D.

Thursday morning before leaving the house,I was given a birthday hug from the youngest one and the a punch on the shoulder from the other, and that was basically all I was expecting. Apparently the little ones had something totally different planned:

BirthdayCake

I was too shocked and awed at first to say anything, so my first reaction to the cake was really this: =O. They little ones were so sneaky and clever about the whole thing, and the whole time I was home I had no clue there was a cake and cameras being set up in the dining room awaiting me. It was the cutest thing ever, and a real justification for the crappy weak I was having. When I was finally able to close my mouth and put together some words, my first question to my siblings was, “Why is this cake purple? What happened to getting the Chocolate Lava that you two loveee soo much?”. At hearing that, my youngest one looked up at me like I had just asked the most stupid question ever! “Purple is your favourite colour, that’s why we bought this one. It looked preeeettyyy”, she replies with such innocence, it made me smile for ages. Heck! I’m smiling as I type this! She left me speechless again, and I decided to retain from saying or asking anything after that and went on with the cutting ceremony so we could all enjoy some beautiful 'purple cake’.

When I was a little girl, my Mom told me: ‘Allah (swt) did not create us for that one day. We were made to survive each and every day of our lives, and Thank him for that on all 365 days, five times a day.’ God bless my Mom for putting that realization into my heart at such a young age, and since then I never really care much for birthdays. All these years I’ve followed her advice closely, and thank The Almighty each and everyday for the life I have. However, there is one blessing that I don’t remember to count each and everyday and Thursday’s birthday surprise made me realise just that. The overpowering love of my family that I’m blessed with is beyond comparison to anything in this world, even my own life. Ironically, this time it was the little ones who put that realisation in my heart and I cannot thank them enough.

*Knocks* Anybody home?

Hi

Hey guys!

How is it going? I have been hiding in my room away from all socializing, because…YUP! You guessed it! It’s E X A M  Timeeeeee! I am drowning in more and more revision day by day, and have not had a chance to take some time off and just “Chillax”, like my friend says. However, I decided to screw work today, and come down here to see how all you lovely people were doing! Open-mouthed smile.

I don’t have much to blog about. Actually I don’t have anything to blog about HA! I’m saving my rants and stories for after exams. Today I just want to share a story with you that I found on Facebook. It actually left me pondering for a while, and I was a bit shocked as well to find such a BEAUTIFUL story on Facebook!! Surprised smile. The most time consuming/wasting sites ever created. [Yet she has an account on it. Eye rolling smile]

The story does not need to be explained or anything. It pretty much says it all, so I’ll get it pasted here right away so you can have a read. Although, I will say that it is directed mostly towards the female readers, but go ahead boys and take a read. It can’t hurt Winking smile

The Flower and the Pearl

One day, a brilliantly beautiful and fragrant flower with attractive colors met a pearl that lives far in the bottom of the sea and has none of these characteristics. Both got acquainted with each other.

The flower said: “Our family is large; roses and daisies are members of the family. And there are many other species that are various and countless; each has a distinctive scent, appearance etc.”

Suddenly, a tinge of distress appeared on the flower. “Nothing accounts for sorrow in your talk; so why are you depressed?” The pearl asked.

“Human beings deal with us carelessly; they slight us. They don’t grow us for our sake but to get pleasure from our fragrance and beautiful appearance. They throw us on the street or in the garbage can after we are dispossessed of the most valuable properties; brilliance and fragrance.”

The flower sighed. And then the flower said to the pearl: “Speak to me about your life! How do you live? How do you feel it? You are buried in the bottom of the sea.”

The pearl answered: “Although I have none of your distinctive colors and sweet scents, humans think I am precious. They do the impossible to procure me. They go on long journeys, dive deep in the seas searching for me. You might be astounded to know that the further I lay, the more beautiful and brilliant I become.

That’s what upraises my value in their thought. I live in a thick shell isolated in the dark seas. However, I’m happy and proud to be in a safe zone far from wanton and mischievous hands and still the humans consider me highly valuable.”

Do you know what the flower and the pearl symbolize?

Think, Think, Think…

You will find that: The flower is the unveiled woman (who shows her charms) and the pearl is the veiled woman (who conceals her beauties).

…Moment of pondering…

which one of the two are you, have been, or would like to be…?

Hope you all are having a super lovely week! Take care Smile

“Stuck between a rock and a hard hard place, in and out of emptiness and still you rise”

Japan Earthquake

Haiti

Are there countless numbers of these pictures? Yes. Whether you are browsing the internet, watching the news, reading the headlines, checking your friend’s Facebook status, or perhaps reading some of the recent blogs, it is every where. There is no hiding or ignoring it this time around. There used to be a time when an earthquake or Tsunami would happen once every 100 years, and it would be a  huge deal because it was so rare. Then came a time, not so long ago when these catastrophes became part of our daily lives. Every other day, one country or the other on the planet would be suffering from some sort of natural disaster. There used to be a time when large scale revolutions and protests had become rare too. Now, they seem to be the most controversial and fresh off the stove topic. The ones who are part or have been the victims of these catastrophes and protests pray and hope for the day when the one and only  will come and put an end to it all. The Mahdi. The Krishna. The Buddha. The Christ. who will rule the world and create a Utopia for us all. People who have not been involved in these day to day revolts and disasters feel frustrated but also keep their faith in peaceful days. Regardless of what name you call your Messiah, or if you even believe in one, you keep your hopes and faith strong. It’s part of human nature is it not? To aim for the best? To hope and pray for better days? It is the hope found in every culture, big or small. That’s what keeps the human surviving, right? From the sufferings, the sacrifices, and the fears the human has made it this far all due to his faith in the Almighty and the Mahdi who will shortly arrive. The waiting period has always been the hardest part in any case. Let’s look at day to day waiting periods: You are waiting outside an operation theatre while your beloved is caught between life and death, or you’re waiting for the arrival of someone special at the airport. Every minute goes by as slowly as it possibly can. But when the doctors walk out of the operation room with a smile, or when your special someone is approaching, the heart bounces between excitement and relief. In the waiting periods of even in the small day to day events, we find hope, faith, relief and excitement. The human brain can’t even imagine how excited and relieved the heart will be when the one day he has waited for all his life will arrive. The farther away that day is, the more his faith extends. The closer the day gets, the stronger the faith becomes. But putting aside all of this, the question that arises is…
Are we ready for that significant day?

Some people in our world today
Can dream and wonder why
Some people in our world today
Can only wait to die
Empty my conscience for your love
A bouncing finger lets me know I’m alive
& its still rains outside my window
Still rains outside my window
Some got it bad, some got it worse
Life can sometimes look like a curse
So I cry my heart out, Let it all go
Cuz after every rainfall must come a rainbow.
Some got it bad, some got it worse
Life can sometimes be so absurd
So I cry my heart out Let it all go
Cuz after every rainfall must come a rainbow.
Some people got it bad
Sum people got it worse
Since the day of the birth
Everyday end of earth
Live to die another day
Sure I say “congratulations”
But désolé
If the roof should come down today
Rest assure I’m there to wipe away the dirt with pure intention
Some corrupt
Brought a lil bag of hope
What’s up (?)
I can’t run, I can’t hide
The struggle only makes us stronger tonight
If I don’t find you here
I hope to find you way up there
Some got it bad, some got it worse
Life can sometimes look like a curse
So I cry my heart out, Let it all go
Cuz after every rainfall must come a rainbow.

Seriously Rad Blog

Is blogger having an award ceremony week? Because I seem to be involved in a few of these awards recently!

This time the Thank you card goes to Dr. Nas for giving me the “Seriously rad blog” award. Though, he’s going to kill me for saying this but I truly believe that Dr. Nas along with the bloggers listed below are what truly define ‘rad’. They have the clever thoughts and ideas that leave you speechless!  The beautiful touch in their fingers when they type! They have it pretty RAD I'I should not have even been on the Rad list. Seriously Doc, what were you thinking?

thank-you

The rules of the blog. A.k.A the annoying part:

  • Post a picture taken by you and give it a caption. That sounds fairly easy!

Ice on top of cherry...?

I took this picture with my camera, while taking a stroll on a snowy day. Cherry on icing on a cake makes it looks complete and yummy. But, who says it can’t look that way turned upside down? It’s all about perspective!

Moving on…here is the awaited list of the RAD ones! These are the MOST RAD Blogs I’ve come across so far! Check ‘em out! They are A W E S O M E !

That’s all folks! Take care!

MY FAVS [Taaaagggg!!! You’re it!]

First off, I’d like to thank the Loveeely Sara of Sweet Serenity for tagging me in her list of favourites.

And without further adieu here is my list of favourites, and the people that I TAG!

  1. Food – I lovee my desi foood to death, although it’s a shame that  I can’t handle too much spice. So anything that’s mildly spicy is goood!
  2. Color – PURPLE! I’m a big fan of red too, but PURPLE ftw!
  3. Animal – I don’t like animals much to be honest. That is why I don’t have pets, but if I were to get a pet I’d get a fish. They’re quiet and don’t walk around licking you and pooping on your carpet! Eye rolling smile
  4. Sports – Haha! Can I skip this one? I’m not big on sports, but I do watch the National Hockey League finals, only if this beautiful man is playing Winking smile. He’s sort of my sport crush!
  5. Dessert – Rasmalaii, would have to be my favourite Dessert of all time. Mmmmm!
  6. Pair of shoes – From flats to chunky heel to high heels to leather boots to sick speed runners to cute flipflops to fancy sandals. You name it! It’ll most likely be in my closet. Eye rolling smile
  7. Outfit – Preppy with a hint of trendy is usually the kind of outfits that I like to wear to school and work, but when it comes to favs nothing beats the desi ‘ol Shalwar Kameez! Though, I haven’t tried a sari yet! hmmmm (?)
  8. BrandH&M and Smart set
  9. Perfume – Jeniffer Lopez for the winner Open-mouthed smile! Her perfume and her hair both are too much to handle.
  10. Accessory – Bracelets and Earrings!
  11. City – I don’t have a favourite city yet. There are so many that I still need to visit. lol. [Next..? ]
  12. Hobby – Writing! Whether its a  blog, school work, or personal reflection. It always gets me through the rough and tough every time!
  13. Beauty Product – Eye shadow and Blush
  14. Snack – Ready to go noodles! They were discovered by my Best friend back in Eighth grade and have been our favourite since then!
  15. Holiday – I don’t know if this is about my favourite holiday place which is Vancouver or my favourite Holiday which is EID
  16. Movie – Shawshank Redemption is on the top of my list of 100000000 movies that I love!
  17. Song – I don’t know if it’s possible to have just one favourite song. I have like fifty that I could list out. Currently my favourite song is “After every rainfall” by Outlandish.
  18. Guilty Pleasure – haha! I guess my love for Johnny Depp would be considered a guilty pleasure! I just can’t seem to get over his awesome acting skills and the whole pirate look!

T A G G E D    O N E S: Drum roll please…

  1. Smiley of ╚» š ρ α я к ℓ ι n g š м ι ℓ є š «╝
  2. Splendid of The Splendid Sky
  3. Elisa of Before Sunrise

Are these all the rules of the award? I really hope so, because I’m kind of pressed for time at the moment! I hope all you smart bloggers/readers are having a productive and joyful week, and I’ll get back to you with more award responses and other posts sooooooon!
